A delegation team of China National Space Administration (CNSA) led by Mr Jianhua Zhang, Deputy Director of CNSA, visited HKUST on 21 July 2014 to exchange views and updates on the development of aerospace technology in Mainland China. Prof Wei Shyy, Executive Vice-President and Provost of HKUST, introduced the strategic development of the University to the delegation team in details. Mr Zhang shared with the HKUST faculty members about the background of the “Exhibition on China’s Lunar Exploration Programme” launched at the Hong Kong Science Museum, and elaborated on positive results of lunar-landing collaboration between Mainland China and Hong Kong.
Prof Wei Shyy said that he was impressed by the national remarkable achievements in the aerospace sector. Prof Wei expressed to CNSA that it would be encouraging for Hong Kong students who have a strong passion in aerospace technology should CNSA be able to provide them with internships and training opportunities.
The delegation team also visited the University’s CLP Power Wind-Wave Tunnel Facility and Nanoelectronics Fabrication Facility.
